The TRUMPET project recently achieved an important milestone in its educational outreach by organizing a successful hackathon in Forlì, Italy. The event saw the participation of 100 high school students from “Fulcieri Paulucci di Calboli” working in mixed-gender teams.
The hackathon encouraged students to develop innovative AI-driven solutions to pressing challenges in healthcare, such as improving access to oncology treatments for patients in remote or underserved areas. Guided by expert mentors from IRST IRCCS and industry partners, the students tackled complex real-world problems in healthcare and proposed creative solutions.
The initiative was also a key step in promoting STEM education and raising awareness about the role of AI in healthcare. The winning team will have the opportunity to attend a week-long summer school in July 2025 at Gradiant in Spain, gaining further hands-on experience in AI and healthcare technologies.
This event marks a significant step forward in the TRUMPET project’s mission to engage young minds and foster future innovation leaders.
